After the period of suspension due to Covid-19, in September the training activities of LIFE.MI with young refugees and asylum seekers are restarting, recovering from what had already been done in recent months.
In fact, from December 2019 to February 2020, about 60 young people between 18 and 30 years old had participated in a training course on soft skills and job orientation, managed by ICEI.
Thanks to this path, the participants had the opportunity to:
– raise awareness on their experiences and skills
– discover services present on their territory
– know-how and tools to access the labor market (CV writing, etc.)
– strengthen various transversal skills, such as those related to communication and teamwork.
Among those 60 participants, 20 young people were selected to start a new specific path in September.
The new training activities of LIFE.MI will concern:
– language training
– technical training
On the one hand, the new training activities of LIFE.MI aim to promote the learning of the Italian language as L2, focusing also on communicative skills directly related to the themes and work sectors identified.
These workshops will be managed by Fondazione Verga, through distance and in-presence learning and innovative and non-formal methodologies, for a total of 40 hours.
The other part of the new training activities of the LIFE.MI project concerns a technical training in 2 professional sectors, for 60 hours each, to learn the job of barman, managed by NonSoloCocktails, and painter, managed by Esem.
Comunità Nuova, project partner, will support the realization of the entire path, which will end in December 2020.
Subsequently, some of the young participants will have the opportunity to do a paid internship of 6 months in companies, small businesses or stores in the area of Milan.
The project LIFE.MI – Lavoro Integrazione Formazione Empowerment per giovani Migranti has been realized with Fondazione Cariplo committed to the support and promotion of socially useful projects in the fields of art and culture, environment, personal services and scientific research.
