Intercultural citizenship

Intercultural Citizenship is the ability of citizens to strengthen their interactions by building bridges between cultures and blending diversity to build trust and cohesive communities, facilitate access to and protection of rights and provide new opportunities. It emphasises the right of all citizens to contribute to the society in which they live, valuing the so-called “diversity advantage” in terms of: gender, ability, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation and age, with a mutual enrichment. – Source: Council of Europe, Intercultural Cities Programme
